Boating enthusiasts enjoy two naturally protected marinas, complete with paved launch ramps, dry storage facilities, maintenance services, fuel docks and reasonable rates for slip rentals. Sport boats and yachts dock side by side in the easily accessible harbor.
 

San Carlos has long been known for the quality of its diving waters. Clear visibility, rock and coral shelves, and an abundant variety of underwater sea life provide for optimal scuba diving and snorkeling.
 

Fishing in the Sea of Cortez offers diversity of game, including dorado, grouper, bonito and billfish. Annual tournaments attract sports fishermen from all over Sonora and the Southwest.
 

The numerous islands in the area are bird sanctuaries, making San Carlos an ideal location to observe many species of seabirds. Offshore, the area is noted for whales, porpoises, sea lions, sea turtles and more than 600 species of fish.
 

Directly across the street from the Sonesta Gran Posada Resort is one of a very limited number of 18-hole golf courses in Sonora. Preferred tee times and memberships will be available for condo owners.
